About Kaeru Kitchen
A calmer place for your recipes
Kaeru Kitchen is a recipe keeper for home cooks, for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Why we made it
Good recipes end up everywhere: a screenshot, a bookmark, a note in a message, a page folded in a cookbook. Then you change the salt, or halve the sugar, and the change is only in your head. We wanted one friendly place to keep recipes, change them as you cook, and find them again.
Why the name?
Kaeru is Japanese for “to return home”, and it also sounds like the word for frog. Home cooking is where we all end up. The bubbles in the logo are a nod to a pond, and to something gently simmering.
What we believe
- Your recipes are yours. They stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. We cannot see them.
- No account, no ads, no tracking. Open the app and start cooking.
- Plain and gentle. Only the tools you need, in plain words.
- Honest about imports. Recipes read from a link or photo can be wrong, so the app asks you to check.
